So, last weekend I had the pleasure of watching the John Mayer concert at the Ed-to-da-monton. All in all, an AWESOME concert especially considering that via Shane's random fan club draw we got FRONT ROW TICKETS. So there was Shane, Jeremy, Alan and I in the front row, a part of the exclusive club who got to experience the concert whilst having John himself a mere 3-4 meters away (if that). Derek and Amber graciously allowed us to enjoy the front while they enjoyed a few rows back. Over in section 102 was my girl Nithya and her cuz ... still awesome seats ... able to stalk us from afar...lol. This will probably be one of the very few concerts that I will enjoy (seeing as I don't really go to concerts in the first place...other than the Fray which I went to a couple months back) but wow, was it worth it. Every song was amazing, his guitar skillz were mad, and less the fact that there was a spotlight right in my face half the time, and despite the fact that he didn't play "Daughters" it was well worth the trip.
And what a trip it was ... I don't think I have spent less time in Edmonton than I have this time round. We left Calgary almost at 3 since Al and Jer had to work ... arrived at Edmonton 5ish ... grabbed a quick Jap food dinner (mmmmm)...went to the concert (amazing)... went out to Hudson's ($2 highballs!) ... and crashed at Nithya's only to wake up at 9, depart, an be back home at about 1pm ... just in time for me to work at 3... We probably spent more awake time on the road than in the city....
To sum ... John Mayer ... live = ridiculously awesome ... I love this guy even more now ....
... I'll just ignore in my head that Alan and Shane said the Calgary show was "hands-down" the better one.... :P
