A month or so too late ... but welcome to the world Kyan Barclay! (My cousin Caren gave birth to a beautiful baby boy on September 10th ... congratulations!)

Bringin' the Spirit Keg Back ... WRC C-Spot style

AIESEC Western Regional Conference 2006 | Winnipeg, ManiTOBA | 'major' conf. # 7 ... and counting

To a certain extent it still hasn't really hit me that AIESEC Calgary brought back the spirit keg. It's a bit surreal. I was having this discussion with Layial in that it is so crazy that we actually won, so this would be the fourth WRC since I have been in AIESEC (wow, that really dates my AIESEC XP thus far eh?) and each year we "try" to no avail. But FINALLY it comes back to Calgary and awesomely, in my EB year! (My AIESEC life is finally all coming together) The members really brought it this conference and I am so proud of that. It really is great to see a cohesive group finally come together and truly give it our all. My voice has really not been so strained ever before and I attribute some of that to the motivation to strive for spirit excellence and being "high" on the Guru (all natural!) energy drinks. mmmm...Guru....I need to get me some of that for the next conference, it really got things moving (although apparently the whole local was on watch to make sure I didn't "over-consume")!

A huge shoutout to the Calgary WRC team ... and all the WRC delegates, especially the many people who I have been able to connect with. (Thanks to everyone in the Peg especially!)

Way to go Calgary .. yeah, yeah we got spirit KEG! ... woot ... thanks SFU for taking note!

Oh yeah... and courtesy of Pete and Naz they came up with a cheer for me (take note Nith!):
"Ahhh Lew ... Ahhh Lew ... Ahhh Lew ... .... Bless You!" .... lol ... LOVE it, thanks guys!

Careers Day - a success!

OK, well I haven't blogged in forever... yes it has been quite a forever. And THIS is probably the main reason why ... CAREERS DAY. I may or may not have been that guy who truly was like a chicken with his head cut off. I was stressed, overworked, over pressured, over-everything. But, when it comes down to it, I know I would have been a thousand times worse had I not had the amazing people around me. I'd like to just take this opportunity to thank my OC. Vania, James, Alan, Rick, & Sam ... wow, you guys pulled through and really rocked it I am so glad to share this with you. To the volunteers (including my sister who kept me semi-sane) to the Exec team of AIESEC Calgary. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I am so glad it is over, but also so amazed at what we were able to accomplish. This really was a challenge for me, leadership of such a project was an experience unlike any other for me. I'm not gonna lie and say that it was easy, cuz it wasn't! Leadership definately is something that learned over time and I can only hope that experiencing such an event this early in life can only be for the better. In the end, I was extremely happy with the results and I think other people were happy too! September 28th 2006 has finally come and gone ... and I can concentrate on other stuff... namely school, something I have seriously (and regrettably)neglected...whoopsy!

mmm... KD .... ;)
